Do you ever get headaches for seemingly no reason?
Did the headache start shortly after arriving to work? Is this caused by stress from the job? Maybe, but what is more likely is that this headache is caused by the pollution from all the car exhaust on the commute to work! Most of us experience traffic on our drive to work.
Consider this next time you’re sitting in traffic on the freeway: You’re in a zone where air pollution can be five to 10 times higher than in surrounding areas. Even inside your vehicle, you’re probably breathing in pollutants through the windows or the air vents. After an hour long commute, you’ve likely doubled your daily exposure to the harmful particles in vehicle exhaust.
If you woke up in the morning feeling fine, then when you get to the office you notice a headache, this may be due to the exhaust from all the cars on your commute. According to the National Headache Foundation, a recent study that included the effects of various pollution factors including ozone, carbon monoxide, air pollutants and particulate matter associated with burning gasoline and other fossil fuels. They noticed increased levels of pollution in the air may contribute to headaches.
A study led by Dr. Elizabeth W. Loder, Associate Neurologist, Brigham and Women’s Hospital Associate Professor of Neurology, Harvard Medical School, conducted a systematic review to evaluate evidence of a link between “measures of headache severity or frequency and levels of the 6 criteria outdoor air pollutants routinely.” There was a link between particulate matter and chronic migraines and asthma.
The best thing you can do to protect yourself, short of moving to the country, is to roll up all the windows and press the recirculate button for your car's ventilation system. This may be the most important button in your car for your health!
According to Dr Jack Tips, "If you do not have efficient cellular energy production, the body will have a tendency to retain toxins because it simply does not have the cellular fires (energy) to either burn them up or chemically alter them, or facilitate the needed detoxification processes via the liver, and other eliminative organs – skin, kidneys/bladder, lymphatic system, lungs, gall bladder, and bowels."

It’s not just headaches, brain fog, this is when you literally can’t think straight. It may cause mood changes irritability and anxiety. Have you ever been feeling great then you get nasty to your family when you come home? This could be due to toxic exposure on your drive home.
